Texas A&M University at Galveston and the Houston Advanced Research Center 
are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with expertise in coastal processes, 
hazards, and planning to participate in the development and implementation 
of strategies that address coastal urban livability, resilience, and 
sustainability. The position will be located on the Texas A&M University at 
Galveston campus in the Center for Texas Beaches and Shores. Principal 
activities will be focused on Galveston Futures, a long-term project aimed 
at using community input and innovative visualization techniques to help 
design sustainable futures in coastal communities.

This position requires knowledge of principles and practices of urban and 
coastal planning. Applicants should be skilled in the use of geographic 
information systems, computer-aided planning support tools, and software 
packages for database development and management. A Ph.D. in Planning, 
Natural Resource Management, Geography, or related fields is expected. The 
fellowship has an annual salary of $38,000 with standard Texas A&M 
University at Galveston benefits. Its duration is one year with the 
possibility of reappointment.
