Ball State University's Center for Media Design is seeking Social Science Researchers for the following project in Phillie, Chi-town, Atlanta, Dallas and Indianapolis. Please see below!

RESEARCH OBSERVERS

In connection with a national media project, a number of temporary field research positions are available for applicants in the following cities: Indianapolis, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and Philadelphia.  The positions will begin in early September and run through mid-November, 2009.  Candidates must be available to work 40 hours/week with a flexible schedule that will include weekend and evening hours.

Hourly rate: $20.00

Responsibilities:
.       Accurately conduct observational field research with a hand-held computer device
.       Attend a compact and intense orientation and training session
.       Support team members
.       Maintain a flexible schedule and adapt to new working environments daily
.       Commute to and from varied job locations within the metropolitan area
.       Maintain strong communication with team members and supervisors

Minimum qualifications:
.       Associate's degree or equivalent and at least three months of relevant research experience; or 2 years of college experience and at least six months of relevant research experience.
.        Relevant research experience includes training in field or market research, observation or ethnographic research, focus group facilitation, face-to-face survey work and/or other research techniques acquired through academic experience or professional work.

Additional qualifications:
.       Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
.       A computer equipped with Windows XP/Mac OSX (or higher) and a USB port
.       High-speed Internet access in applicant's primary residence
.       Interest in media studies and excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
.
Preferred qualifications:
.       Bachelor's degree in a social science field
.       Excellent project management skills
