This note is to inform you that, pursuant to Section III.B.2 of
Board Policy 9006.01 - Professional Conduct of Faculty,
Department Chairpersons, and Professional/Administrative
Employees - the Presidentof the University, the Provost of the
University, and the Chair of the Academic Senate, met today,
November 3, 2005, upon the request of the Chair of the
Professional Conduct Committee, to discuss whether a recent
allegation of professional misconduct was an appropriate case
for the Professional Conduct Committee.  After a discussion of a
variety of relevant considerations, by a vote of 3-0, the three
individuals instructed the Professional Conduct Committee to
proceed with an investigation of this case under 9006.01 as well
as 7001.01 (Conflicts of Interest) and 7013.01 (Nepotism and
Potential Conflicts in Employment Situations) and any other
applicable Board policies.
