<span style="color:black">The choice of a new provost is a critical decision for the future of YSU, especially with regard to the academic division of our institution. In my opinion, the academic division is being gradually minimized so as to sustain non-revenue
generating, non-academic related portions of the institution. We need to help ensure that the position continues to be filled with a strong, effective advocate for academics. Without our collective voices, we are sure not to influence the final choice of
an individual who will put academics first.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
