Hi all,

The time has come, we're in the third week of the semester now and we
should start having meetings. I will be attending the YSU Penguin
Hackers kick-off meet and greet tonight, and talking about the YSU ACM
and my efforts to rekindle it and make it active again.

I have requested a meeting room for Wednesdays at 3:30pm, starting NEXT
WEEK (14 September 2016). I am waiting to hear back. If this is a
horrible time for most people, I am happy to move it, but I wanted to
get something down on paper and get started with having meetings. I will
post again when the room details have been finalized.

I will give the first presentation next week, and it will be about the
YSU ACM, our goals, possible events, and why we exist/why I care about
rekindling the club. There will be food provided, one way or another,
even if I have to buy it myself. :).

Please begin to think about projects/topics/side projects/hobbies you
might want to give a presentation about during this semester. This is
YOUR club, and it is unique in that it is the only CSIS club we have
where you can present your projects/interests to peers and try to
capture interest in them. More people who know about your pet project
means more people off of whom to bounce ideas and with which to have a
community. It can be anything related to CSIS at all, or even more broad
(another subject/hobby/interest that links in some interesting way with
CSIS subjects).

Please tell all of your friends and spread the word about our first
upcoming meeting.

A few other notes:

- I started a while back on a new and improved YSU ACM website. I will
work toward getting this in a deployable state over the next few days.
Please stay tuned. If you're interested in helping with it, it's on
GitHub: https://github.com/ysuacm/website

- Come out to the YPH meet and greet tonight at 6pm, room 222 in Meshel
Hall! As said above, I'll be there giving a short intro about the YSU
ACM. Come out and support our fellow CSIS clubs and get to know some new
people! Also, they'll have free food.

I think that's mostly everything. Look forward to seeing people tonight,
and at our meeting next Wednesday!

Acting President, YSU ACM
