Morehouse College. The Department of Sociology seeks applications for a 
tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin 
August 18, 2008. The principal area of expertise should be 
criminology/criminal justice. It may be combined with other areas of 
teaching and research such as methodology and statistics, demography 
and environment, world cultures, or sociocultural aspects of health and 
health care. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong 
commitment to teaching undergraduates, an active research and 
publication agenda, and promise for obtaining external research 
funding. A Ph.D. in Sociology is required at the time of appointment. 
Applicants should submit a letter of application, a curriculum vita, a 
sample syllabus, a professional writing sample, and names and addresses 
of three references who can evaluate scholarly achievement and 
potential. These materials should be sent to: Obie Clayton, Chair, 
Department of Sociology, Morehouse College, 830 Westview Drive, SW, 
Atlanta, Georgia 30314-3773. To ensure full consideration, completed 
applications must be received by January 15, 2008. Review of 
applications will begin December 17, 2007 and continue until the 
position is filled. Morehouse College is a historically black liberal
