How about getting some of that money here? The Ohio Latino Affairs
Commission just awarded YSU $10,000 for a similar grant for Hispanics
students. 

 

By the way, check out YSU update, Carl Sims, assistant professor in Biology,
presented and coauthored a research poster, titled "Sex Differences in the
L-Type Calcium Current in Adult Rabbit Right Ventricular Myocytes Modulate
Gender Vulnerability to Early Afterdepolorizatios," at the International
Biophysical Society meeting this year. (Now Carl tell us what this really
means? Smile!!!!) 

 

This research was also published in Biophysical Journal, and he also
published another article in the Circulation Research. 

 

Kudos to Dr. Sims. Keep up the good work!!!!!

Jason Black is the Principal Investigator of a recently awarded 

$552,000 NSF Grant entitled African-American Women in Computer Science.

 

The grant provides scholarships from $4,000 to $10,000 per year for 

African American female students to attend Florida A & M (FAMU).

 

FAMU & Dr. Black need your help to get the word out about this great 

opportunity to build back up the enrollment of women in the CIS 

Department. Pass this information along to high school or community 

college students, their parents, and to guidance counselors you may
