The Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA) at Yale U
(http://cira.med.yale.edu) is offering Post-Doctoral Fellowships through its
HIV Prevention Interdisciplinary Training Program.  CIRA seeks to prevent
HIV infection and reduce the negative consequences of HIV in vulnerable and
underserved populations through theory-based, interdisciplinary research and
by training of the next generation of HIV/AIDS scientists.  CIRA draws upon
the expertise of HIV prevention scientists at Yale University from a broad
array of 16 disciplines.  Yale University provides an exceptional training
environment to provide Fellows with the skills to advance prevention
research and to address future challenges of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and other
emerging diseases.  Four Post-Doctoral Fellow positions are available.  Each
Fellowship will run for a 2- year training period.  Fellows are trained
within CIRA, working closely with a research preceptor from among CIRA's 18
Primary Training Faculty members.  Fellows will be encouraged to write
articles for publications and prepare an extramural grant application in an
HIV-related area. Fellows must have a Ph.D., M.D., or J.D.  To apply:

The School of Anthropology, Geography and Environmental Studies is seeking
to make a new appointment to research, teach and administer in the field of
Social Anthropology. The post is broadly defined, and we welcome
applications from outstanding candidates in any area of the discipline.
Nevertheless, applications by candidates with expertise in urban
anthropology, migration, contemporary Australian society, applied
anthropology and/or development will
be particularly welcomed. Likewise, applicants who might help broaden the
area focus of the Program beyond its current specialisms in Asia Pacific and
Central Europe would also be particularly welcomed. The successful applicant
must be proven, or show the potential to be a successful university teacher

Full-time, tenure-line position. Teach social research (qualitative)
methods, anthropological theory, and introductory cultural anthropology with
specialization in at least two of the following areas: research methods,
indigenous peoples of North, Meso or South America, urban anthropology, and
public policy issues (e.g., health, law, environment, education). Three
courses/semester. Participate in core curriculum, continue professional
development, advise students, and participate in governance.   Ph.D. in
anthropology (ABD considered). Expertise in at least two of the following
areas: research methods, indigenous peoples, urban anthropology, and public
policy issues. Commitment to undergraduate teaching, active scholarship and
liberal arts education in an interdisciplinary department also required.
Must be able to employ an explicitly cross-national, cross-cultural, and/or
comparative perspective in teaching and research. We especially welcome
candidates whose teaching emphasizes minority issues. Interested individuals
