SANA BOOK  PRIZE 
SOCIETY FOR  THE ANTHROPOLOGY OF NORTH AMERICA 

Delmos  Jones and Jagna Sharff Memorial Prize for the Critical Study of North 
 America 
Description,  Eligibility and submission procedure 
This prize will be awarded every other year for a single or  
multiple-authored book (but not edited collections) that deals with an important  social issue 
to the discipline of anthropology, that has broader implications  for social 
change or justice, and that is accessible beyond the discipline of  
anthropology.  
*For single or multiple-authored books in anthropology published in  
2004-2005, the prize will be awarded in 2006, at the SANA meeting at Baruch  College, 
CUNY, April 20-22*   
Nominations and  self-nominations must include a letter of nomination, a c.v. 
or bio-bibliography  and 3 copies of the book. *Deadline  for receipt of 
nominations for the 2006 prize: January 30, 2006.   
*  Submissions: 2 copies  of the nominating letter and book should be sent 
to: Professor Ida  Susser, Doctoral  Program in Anthropology, Graduate Center, 
City University of New York, 365 Fifth  Ave, NY NY 10016. And one copy  of the 
book and letter should be sent to: Professor Karen Brodkin Department of  
Anthropology, 341 Haines Hall Box 951553, UCLA, Los Angeles  90095-1553. 
* Award: The prize will be awarded at the  SANA spring conference in New York 
City, at Baruch College, CUNY, Newman  Conference Center, April 20-22,  2006
