THE NEW HOMELESS: PREVENTING MASS EVICTIONS ON THE GULF COAST

While national attention has been focused on the recovery efforts in
New Orleans and concerns surrounding the hurricane season that has
just started, a new, little noticed disaster is in the making as
thousands face eviction and homelessness.

A short documentary on this underreported crisis, "The New Homeless:
Preventing Mass Evictions on the Gulf Coast," tells the stories of
low-income tenants threatened with evictions by their landlords in
Southern Mississippi. The combination of unscrupulous landlords and a
shortage of affordable rental housing has been devastating for
thousands of renters on the Gulf Coast.
