CALL FOR ESSAYS: GLOBALIZATION AND THE AMERICAN SOUTH, A SPECIAL THEME
ISSUE OF /SOUTHERN CULTURES/

Southern Cultures/ is soliciting articles on the experience
of globalization in the American South and the cultural, economic, and
social impact of these changes on the region. We are especially
interested in discussions of Hispanic immigration to the modern South,
but other subjects are also welcome.  Essays may emphasize history or
contemporary experience. The issue will appear in the Winter  2007-08
issue. The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2007.

            Published for the UNC Center for the Study of the American
South by UNC Press, /Southern Cultures/ provides a rich forum of
animated, informed voices discussing all aspects of southern life. A
peer-reviewed, nonprofit quarterly, the journal features the best of
academic and general interest writing.
