NEW FIELD SURVEY ON RETURN MIGRANTS

 

The preliminary results of the new field survey on return migrants to the
Maghreb countries (Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia) are now accessible online
on the MIREM website:

The survey was carried out by the research team of the MIREM project (Return
Migration to the Maghreb), thanks to the financial support of the European
Union and the European University Institute (EUI).

 

The preliminary results, based on circa 1000 interviews, shed light on the
returnees' patterns of reintegration and post-return conditions, whether
these decided to return individually or were forced to return. Analyses
pertain to:

*	The socio-demographic characteristics of the returnees;
*	Socio-professional situation and skills;
*	Resources: social and financial capital;
*	The experience of migration lived abroad;
*	Return context and patterns of reintegration;
*	Post-return conditions and prospects.

 

Several analytical reports based on the empirical data will be prepared and
posted online.

NOUVELLE ENQUETE SUR LES MIGRANTS DE RETOUR

 

Les résultats préliminaires de la nouvelle enquête de terrain sur les
migrants de retour au Maghreb (Algérie, Maroc et Tunisie) sont désormais
accessibles sur le site du MIREM :

L'enquête a été effectuée par l'équipe de recherche du projet MIREM
(Migration de retour au Maghreb), grâce au concours financier de l'Union
européenne et de l'Institut universitaire européen (IUE).

 

Les résultats préliminaires, basés sur environ 1000 entretiens, apportent de
précieux renseignements sur les modes de réintégration et les conditions
post-retour des migrants ayant décidé ou pas de retourner au pays. L'analyse
prend en considération :

*	Les caractéristiques sociodémographiques des migrants de retour au
Maghreb;
*	Leur situation professionnelle et les qualifications;
*	Leurs ressources : capital financier et social;
*	Leur expérience migratoire avant le retour;
*	Retour et modes de réintégration;
*	Perspectives et conditions post-retour.

 

Différents rapports d'analyse, basés sur les résultats empiriques, seront
rédigés et placés sur le site du projet.
