Five Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Humanities are
available for the 2008-2009 academic year from the Penn Humanities Forum of
the University of Pennsylvania for untenured junior scholars who are no more
than eight years out of their doctorate.
The programs of the Penn Humanities Forum are conceived through yearly
topics that invite broad interdisciplinary collaboration. The Forum has set
CHANGE as the topic for the 2008-2009 academic year. Research proposals on
this topic are invited from a variety of theoretical perspectives in all
areas of humanistic study except educational curriculum-building and the
performing arts. Candidates from all humanistic disciplines are eligible, as
well as those in allied areas such as Anthropology and History of Science.
Fellows teach one undergraduate course each of two terms in addition to
conducting research. Stipend: $42,000 plus health insurance. The fellowship
is open to all scholars, national and international, who meet eligibility
criteria.
