Assistant Professor - Anthropology of Globalization

The University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a
tenure-track position in Sociocultural Anthropology at the Assistant
Professor level to begin September 1, 2008, specializing in the ethnographic
study of contemporary globalization and its impacts on local communities,
including indigenous peoples. Strongest consideration will be given to an
applicant whose primary research area is located in the Caribbean or Latin
America, and whose research and publication record shows demonstrated
promise. Experience teaching in urban public institutions with diverse
student bodies is desirable. Ph. D. in Anthropology must be in hand by
August 31, 2008. Candidates should send a description of research and
