CFP: Ethnic Culture as a Transformational and Global Process (Ukraine)

Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University plans to conduct an
International scientific-theoretical conference on issues relating to the
development of modern ethnologic ideas
«The development of ethnic culture as a transformational and global
processes»
on September 26-27, 2008
Eight sections are planned:
- the historiographic study of transformation processes in the 20th and 21st
centuries
- debatable problems of ethnogenesis. Complex researches
- the methods and methodology of modern ethnologic science
- migratory processes and adaptations to the culture of foreign environments
- the forming and functioning of subcultures in modern society
- elements of traditional ethnic culture in the modern urbanized environment
- urban anthropology
- processes of transformation in traditional village culture.
Please apply for participation in the conference and send conference papers
(12 pages, 1,5 spacing) by May, 15, 2008 in an electronic and printed
format.
Papers must have citations at the end of text (not in square handles),
annotation
and keywords in Ukrainian, Russian and English. The organizational committee
preserves the right to select and edit sent materials. According to the
decision
of the editorial board papers will be published before the beginning of the
conference in the scientific digest which is included in the list of
professional
editions of VAK of Ukraine (historical disciplines), «Ethnic History of
European
Nations».
Conference participants will be provided with a residence in a hotel on
their
own account. The members of conference organizational committee are Dr.
