1 Year Visiting Assistant Professor

The Anthropology Program at Bard College invites applications for a one-year 
visiting assistant professor position in cultural anthropology beginning in 
Fall 2008.  Area of specialization is open.  Teaching experience is 
required.  Duties will include teaching three courses per semester, to 
include Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, and supervision of senior 
theses. Candidates will have colleagues in a variety of area studies 
programs--Africana, Middle East, Latin American and Iberian Studies, Asian 
Studies, as well as Human Rights; Globalization and International Affairs; 
Science, Technology and Society Studies; Environmental and Urban Studies 
among others. Bard College is a highly selective college of the liberal arts 
and sciences located 2 hours north of NYC in the Hudson Valley.   The 
College has a strong tradition of progressive education and academic,
