The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Behavioral Science of
Metropolitan State College of Denver invites applications for a
full-time, tenure-track position in sociocultural anthropology
beginning in Fall 2009. A Doctorate in Anthropology is required for
appointment. We have a strong preference for candidates whose work
emphasizes globalization or human rights, with a focus on Africa,
South Asia, or the Middle East. Quality college teaching experience, a
willingness to teach culture theory and ethnographic methods, and
experience working in a large urban institution with a diverse student
population are additional preferred qualifications. The position
requires teaching day and evening classes, 12 hours per semester (4
courses), student advising, professional development and service. In
