TIMEWIDE: Thinking the city in deep scale
VI Urban and Landscape Days at the Estonian Academy of Arts
23.-25.4.2009 Kanuti Gildi Hall, Pikk tn 20, Tallinn, Estonia

TIMEWIDE reshapes urban thought and design practices – looking deep in
time and wide in space. What if we put our work in the light of
fundamental questions of birth and death of civilisations? Or, what if
we start our design-thinking from very large scale, from Europe-wide
forms of landscape, such as the Rhine Valley?
The VI Urban and Landscape Days bring together international experts of
archaeology, urban studies, architecture, landscape architecture and art
history. The programme consists of keynote lectures, discussions and
tactical workshops in Tallinn region. A special track on the notion of
over-determined image and a PhD workshop is organised. Keynote speakers
include Christopher TenWolde (USA/Finland), Isabella Pasqualini
(Switzerland), Aaro Söderlund (Finland), Luke Engleback (UK), Luis
Urbano (Portugal), Nathalie Beekman (Netherlands), Chris Moller (New
Zealand/Netherlands), João Figueira (Portugal).

TIMEWIDE is organised by the Chairs of Urban Studies and Urban
Landscapes of the Estonian Academy of Arts.
