[URBANTH-L] A request for references from colleagues in Anthropology of Poverty

Hi all,

I am also a student looking for more resources related specifically to the
anthropology of poverty in urban settings, especially as it relates to
children growing up in extreme poverty environments, but not exclusively.
After reading several sources on structural sociological accounts and even
what some sociologists have termed the "cultural turn" of studying class
using Bourdieu with more emphasis on cultural and social capital in
determining poverty, mobility, and class status, I find that there are few
anthropological sources, even though I feel anthropology has a lot to
contribute to this area.

If anyone has any resources on this topic, I would love to be copied on it.
I'd also be willing to share my references if anyone else is interested in
the same topic.

Thanks,

Dear All,

My name is Tamir Erez and I'm a doctoral student in Anthropology.
I'm conduction research on people in poverty in urban environment who are
not homeless.
I would be most thankful if you could send me references of recent
literature on this topic - Anthropology of Poverty.
I'll be also happy to share my materials with an offer for fruitful
dialogue.
Thanks in advance,
Tamir Erez
