THIS IS A REPEATED ANNOUNCEMENT TO AAA Members who wish to have Invited
Panels sponsored by SUNTA:

Please submit your proposal for an invited panel to me directly at
dnonini at email.unc.edu by absolutely no later than March 1. It should have a
panel abstract and a list of speakers, their paper titles and paper
abstracts.

After March 1, the SUNTA 2009 Program Committee will reach a decision by
ranking all invited proposal sessions, and then contact those invited panel
organizers who are highly ranked by no later than March 10. At that point,
these organizers will be urged to formally submit their invited panel
proposals to the AAA electronically with the Program Committee's
endorsement.

Put another way, you do NOT formally submit to the AAA before the SUNTA 2009
Program Committee considers your proposal for sponsorship of an invited
session.

According to the AAA, "Invited sessions (reserved time presentations) are
intended to be arranged by a section to present cutting-edge research and/or
critical issues of interest to the entire section and members of other
sections."

Please bear in mind that panels can be 1.75 hours in length or a double
session of 3.75 hours, with no speaker provided more than 15 minutes.

Please also bear in mind that the final deadline for all panel materials to
be formally received electronically by the AAA is April 1.

Thanks,

Don Nonini
