[YSU-Academic-Senate] Update on Results from the Senate Meeting on 10/2/24

Good morning everyone!

As a follow-up to my email yesterday with the recording of the senate meeting, I am attaching a brief synopsis of the vote totals that were taken yesterday.  I wanted to wait until I had official confirmation on the vote totals before reporting them to the body.  Two of the vote totals are summarized below:

Election for Senate Chair:
Martha Pallante 27 votes
Chet Cooper 22 votes
Michael Costarell 10 votes
Adam Earnheardt 10 votes
According to Senate bylaws, we will have a runoff election between Martha and Chet (See attached formal email from Dr Bob Kramer).

Vote Totals for the Challenge to the General Education Report on 9/4/24:
Total Votes: 80
Yay: 43 (Vote in favor of the challenge, nullifying the previously approved Gen Ed report from 9/4/24)

Nay: 36 (Vote against the challenge, keeping the previously approved Gen Ed report from 9/4/24).

Abstain: 1

 Final Outcome: Challenge Approved by Majority
