Re:	Request for Suggestions

The attached position description for provost was used in the
search in 2001 which culminated in the appointment of Dr. Tony
Atwater.  Since Dr. Atwater will assume the presidency of Indiana
University of Pennsylvania on February 1, 2005, an interim
provost will be appointed soon and a search will be undertaken to
identify and select a new provost.

President Sweet has asked that Senators have an opportunity to
review and comment on the attached position description and to
nominate members of the provost search committee.  Please review
the position description as soon as possible and send your
suggested emendations as well as your nominee(s) for the provost
search committee directly to Dr. Sweet in the President's office.
Dr. Sweet needs to have your input no later than Friday, January
21, 2005.
