Africana Studies, Visiting Assistant Professor, The University of
Toledo

The Africana Studies Program at The University of Toledo invites
invitations for a one-year, non-tenure track visiting assistant
professor to begin August 18, 2008. Teaching responsibilities will
include sections of Introduction to Africana Studies and other 
coursesin Africana Studies in the applicant*s interest area. The 
position is for the 2008-2009 year only, although it may be renewable 
for one additional year.  A Master*s Degree in Africana Studies or a 
social science or humanities discipline is preferred, a Ph.D. is 
preferred.

The Africana Studies Program at UT has been a degree granting program 
for a decade. In a relatively short time-span, the program has 
receivednational attention for its contributions to the field. The 
program is preparing to strive for yet another plateau. The University 
of Toledo is a large, comprehensive university with several 
professional schools and doctoral programs. The city of Toledo, which 
offers opportunities for an enriched quality of life, is an hour from 
Detroit and 45 minutes from Ann Arbor. The University of Toledo is an
