All,

Let's get our creative juices flowing to discover what BFSA would like to do
for Welcome Week. One thing for sure is to partner with Student Diversity
for their annual picnic but let's extend ourselves even further this year.

Also, how are those BFSA colleague surveys coming at
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=x3NjnsoErxRv8MUkGjlM3Q_3d_3d .

Also, we need volunteers for the SOAR luncheon! CSP has invited BFSA to the
table by allocating one or two tables, therefore it would be befitting for
us to have at least 2 volunteers per luncheon for the following dates and
times per email:

>The CSP Orientation Services is pleased to announce an opportunity for
>faculty in your department to participate in new student orientation.
>To create an initial connection with students, we would like a variety
>of faculty to have lunch with our new students and their families
>during
each
>SOAR session. Participating faculty would have the opportunity to
socialize
>and informally discuss the academic experience at YSU with our
participants.
>
>A buffet lunch is provided at every student orientation program - all
that
>is needed are willing faculty members. Fall 2009 orientation is quickly
>approaching and faculty volunteers will be needed on the dates listed
below
>from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. During the EARLY-SOAR program in March,
the
>department of computer science and information systems made sure that
>faculty from their department volunteered for each luncheon date. If
every
>department took on this challenge, the faculty/family lunch program
would be
>completely successful.
>
>Please forward this email to your faculty and encourage them to sign up
for
>the lunch online at www.ysu.edu/csp/studentorientation/facultylunch
>
>Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
