Aloha all,

This is an update on the Sectional Conferences being held at the
Canterbury Hotel:

By all means, join us from November 17 - 21 at the Canterbury Hotel in
SF!
The entire Council on Anthro & Education will be there, along with
events by SMA, SAW, Anthro and Environment, and more. We're upwards of
60 events now, including a combined poster session of nearly 30 posters.

There will be EXHIBITS on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

On Sunday morning there will be a special plenary session in Solidarity
with the locked out workers.

This started as the Council on Anthropology and Education Sectional
Meeting, but it has expanded to include selected sessions and/or
business meetings from the:

• Council on Anthropology and Education
• Society for the Anthropology of Work
• Society for Medical Anthropology
• Association of Feminist Anthropologists
• Anthropology and the Environment Section
• Society of Gay and Lesbian Anthropologists
• Society for Linguistic Anthropology
• The Journal of Middle East Women's Studies (Board Meeting & Reception)
• AAA's Committee for Human Rights (tentative)
• …and we're talking with the Association of Latino/Latina
Anthropologists
• …and others!

There’s still space, if your section, session, or individual paper
would like to join us, please contact Katie Anderson-Levitt, CAE
Program Chair and Incoming President (katieal at umd.umich.edu).

SPECIAL RATE HOTEL ROOMS STILL AVAILABLE:
There are still hotel rooms available. Call the Canterbury Hotel
during business ours (M-F 9-5 PT) and ask for the “CAE Rate.”

A hui hou,
Yuri Wellington
