FT Faculty (Search #22665)

Eugene Lang College, a division of New School University seeks to hire a
full-time visiting faculty member in the area of urban education for the
academic year 2005-2006. The visitor will teach five courses (or the
equivalent) per year and bear advising responsibilities. The appointment
will be renewable for up to three years.

Responsibilities:
Successful candidates will offer courses in urban education to
undergraduates at Eugene Lang College. We are particularly interested in
candidates who can locate a critical understanding of the challenges facing
city schools within the context of the broader urban, political, and
economic processes that shape urban education. Additional responsibilities
include assisting in the development of an urban education track within Lang
College's Urban Studies program.

Requirements
Earned PhD in education or relevant social science discipline. A record of
publication and teaching experience investigating the processes and
practices of education in an urban context is necessary. Administrative
experience, including interest and expertise in curriculum and program
development, is desirable.
