Navigating the Globalization of the American South: An Interdisciplinary
Conference Exploring the Changing Face of the Southern United States

The University Center for International Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill, in
collaboration with The Center for the Study of the American South and The
Rockefeller Foundation, is pleased to host a major interdisciplinary conference
on the globalization of the American South March 3-4, 2005. The conference will
feature over 60 presentations by scholars, policy makers, and practitioners
covering such issues as health and education delivery, cultural impacts of
immigration, economic transformations, expressing identity through art, and
formulating public policy. All presentations will occur at the William and Ida
Friday Center in Chapel Hill, NC. For more information and to register, please
