SEARCH FOR NEXT EDITOR OF City & Society

 

SUNTA is soliciting applications from qualified anthropologists who are
interested in applying for the position of editor of City & Society, the
referred journal sponsored by SUNTA and the American Anthropological
Association, and published by the University of California Press.
Initial appointment is for a term of three years, beginning in November
2005. 

 

The editor of City & Society is responsible for soliciting reviews for
submitted manuscripts and putting together two issues of the journal per
year, beginning with the summer 2006 issue. In addition, the editor may
commission manuscripts, photo essays or book review essays on particular
topics, work with guest editors on special issues, and oversee
publication of articles based on the SUNTA Interlocutor Sessions from
the annual meetings of the American Anthropological Association. The new
editor will no longer be responsible for electronic typesetting of the
journal, a task that will be assumed by University of California Press. 

 

Applications consist of: 1) a curriculum vitae and 2) a letter
describing your qualifications for the position and outlining your
editorial vision for the journal. Please send these materials as e-mail
attachments to eschultz at stcloudstate.edu. The committee will begin
reviewing applications on November 10, 2005.
