Here are some answers to frequently asked questions:

1. Page limit should be no more than 25 pages, as with most journal articles.

2. There are no rules about formatting, though authors should be consistent throughout.

3. The competition is open to international students as well as US residents.

4. The competition is not open to any previously published material.

5. Co-authors are acceptable, though winners would have to share the award.

6. We would prefer all submissions by email: RSharman at brooklyn.cuny.edu.

The deadline for submitting papers for the 2006 SUNTA Graduate Student Paper
Prize ($250 award) is July 15, 2006. Papers should address issues pertaining
to urban, national, and transnational anthropology, and/or any of the
topical areas of interest to SUNTA, including space and place, poverty and
homelessness, and refugees and immigrants. Papers must be based on original
ethnographic research. Submissions from all graduate students (not just
SUNTA members) are welcome. Professors and practicing anthropologists are
urged to nominate worthy candidates. The winner will be announced at the
2006 AAA meetings. The winning paper will be considered favorably for
publication in City and Society.
