The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for an
entry level tenure-track position in Anthropology to begin in August 2007.
We seek a broadly trained cultural anthropologist working on globalization
and transnationalism who is committed to undergraduate teaching. Possible
research interests include migration, trafficking, health, tourism, heritage
and identity, popular culture and expressive arts, environmental movements,
and violence. Geographic area open. The successful candidate must be
prepared to teach Introduction to Cultural Anthropology; to share
responsibility for upper-level courses in History of Anthropological Theory,
Field Methods in Cultural Anthropology, and/or the senior capstone seminar;
and to offer courses in his or her topical or regional specialties. This
position represents an expansion of the anthropology program to support the
recently established anthropology major and will contribute to the College's
new globalization studies major. Completed Ph.D. in Anthropology required by
the time of appointment. Teaching experience preferred.

The Department of Geography and the Environment and the Center for African
and African American Studies invites applications for a tenure-track
Assistant Professor position with a starting date of September 1, 2007. The
areas of specialization are the Cultural Geography of the African Diaspora
or Urban Geography with a focus on African-American communities. Position
duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, research,
and service to the Department, Center, and University. Applicants must hold
a Ph.D. at the time of appointment, demonstrate publication potential and a
clearly defined research agenda, and present evidence of teaching abilities.

Anthropology: The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Berry College
invites applications for a tenure-track position in cultural anthropology at
the assistant professor level beginning August 2007. Area specialty open;
expertise in Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, or the Middle East
preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to teach introduction
to cultural anthropology, applied anthropology, and additional courses that
complement the offerings of the department. Background in gender, ethnicity,
and/or globalization and transnationalism a plus; experience/expertise in
