Rutgers University Press will be holding a book launch/signing event in NYC for "Money Jungle: Imagining the New Times Square." "Money Jungle" is an innovative new ethnography, which examines the ways in which the Times Square redevelopment project transformed the area's built, social and political environment in the 1990s. The book explores the new public spaces of the Times Square area; the Midtown Community Court and its Times Square Ink job- and life-skills training program; police-community dialogue in and around the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood; and local activism around zoning and development.

The event will be held on Monday, December 3, from 12-1:30 PM, at Le Madeleine, 403 W. 43rd St. in Manhattan. The author, Benjamin Chesluk, and the photographer, Maggie Hopp, will both be present to discuss the book and sign copies. We hope to see you there!
