POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY

 

The University of Nevada, Reno, Department of Anthropology, is seeking
candidates for a tenure-track position in cultural anthropology to be
filled at the level of assistant professor. Required: Ph.D. in cultural
anthropology at the time of application; specialization in cultural
anthropology; evidence of an established, fundable research program and
a record of publication in the research; experience in teaching courses
in cultural anthropology at a four-year university. Preferred:
competence in one or more of the following areas: religion,
globalization, cultural identity, applied anthropology, environmental
anthropology, social organization; ability and willingness to teach
upper division and graduate level courses in cultural anthropology;
experience as chair or member of graduate student committees; interests
that complement those of existing faculty.
