Are you involved in scholarship with community partners? Are you interested in doing more of this work?
Would you benefit from mentoring and networking with other engaged scholars?

If you are an advanced graduate student or a junior faculty member in the early part of your career, we invite you to apply for the Emerging Engagement Scholars Workshop, which takes place in conjunction with the National Outreach Scholarship Conference at Pennsylvania State University (October 7-9, 2008). Sponsors of the workshop include Penn State University, the partner institutions of the National Outreach Scholarship Conference, and the National Center for the Study of University Engagement (NCSUE) at Michigan State University

The workshop experience includes presentations from national leaders and community partners, master class seminars focused on the literature and theory around engaged scholarship and small group working sessions led by senior scholars in community engagement. Participants are asked to submit a research propectus in advance and receive specific feedback and mentoring designed to strengthen their research.

Participation is limited and will be determined by a competitive selection process. Interested applicants must be nominated to be part of this workshop. Go to http://ncsue.msu.edu/eesw.aspx to download the nomination packet. Applications are due July 18, 2008.

If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Tami Moore (tamimoore at wsu.edu, or 509-339-3816).

Please share this information with your colleagues and students who may also be interested in applying.

We look forward to hearing from you.
