 Anthropology-Cultural Anthropologist
 
The Position: The Anthropology Department at Indiana University of 
Pennsylvania announces two anticipated tenure-track positions in cultural 
anthropology at the assistant professor level. The successful applicants 
will demonstrate a commitment to a four-field approach, enthusiasm for 
mentoring undergraduates, and strong teaching skills. Our small but 
vibrant department is seeking individuals who are able to work 
cooperatively within a collegial department of diverse faculty members. 
Candidates should have an active program of research and scholarly 
publications. Teaching responsibilities will include sections of our 
introductory four-field course plus one or more of the following 
specialties: applied anthropology, ethnographic research methods, regional
courses (linked to internal programs such as Pan African and Southeast 
Asia studies major), and environmental anthropology. Other areas of 
specialization such as food and culture, international public health, 
diaspora studies, and transnationalism/social movements will be 
considered.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in anthropology and evidence of teaching 
effectiveness are required. Candidates must communicate effectively and 
perform well during the interview, which may include a teaching 
demonstration. All applicants must be work eligible.
