I have been distracted from this interesting discussion by, well, administration -- but if no one has mentioned this there are some interesting older videos relevant to this theme and to social movements around breaking into houses that I still use in class -- including SQUATTERS --THE OTHER PHILADELPHIA STORY (1984) which deals with ACORN (Yes, the one Republicans are now attacking) and POVERTY OUTLAW (1997), which deals with the Kensington Welfare Rights Union. It is interesting to see these themes coming around again in a new crisis.

In more contemporary communication, the "Okupas" of Barcelona have a website http://okupesbcn.squat.net/ and information about their longer term campaigns is fairly accessible on the web.

Thanks for all the ideas,

Gary
