[YSU-Academic-Senate] Update: Senate Meeting on 10/1/25

Good afternoon everyone,

The Academic Senate recently had a meeting on 10/1/25. Attached, you will find the minutes for the meeting, along with, documents shared during the senate meeting.   Additionally, a recording of the meeting can be found using the following link:

A couple of important reminders:

The senate is seeking an individual from WCBA to fill a vacancy on the Elections and Balloting Committee.  If your interested, send your interest to Dr Chet Cooper and Dr Martha Pallante.

Lastly, Charter and Bylaws Commitee is looking to fill 2 more vacant slots that can come from any college.  If interested, email Dr Chet Cooper and Dr Martha Pallante.

In the senate chair runoff election, the following results were received:
Dr Martha Pallante (30)
Dr Chet Cooper (24)

Dr Martha Pallante will assume the Senate Chair role on 1/1/26 with Dr Chet Cooper assuming the Senate Vice Chair role.

Jackie Mercer has been announced as the new chair of the General Education Committee.
