[YSU-Academic-Senate] Call for Agenda Items: September 9, 2026 Meeting

Good Afternoon Everyone and Welcome Back!

I hope everyone is having a good start to the upcoming fall semester.


Our first senate meeting is scheduled for 9/9/26 at 4 pm in Debartolo Hall Rm 132 which is in just over 2 weeks following labor day.  In order to ensure that the agenda and any support documents are collected and posted a week in advance, I am sending out a call now for anyone who wishes to have an item added to the upcoming senate agenda.



Please have any agenda items in to me by Friday, 8-28-26 at 5 pm so that I can put a draft together for the executive committee to approve in advance of the senate meeting.



If you would like to have an item added, please send the following information:

Presenter name(s):

Presenter topic:

Topic Type: Does your topic require a senate vote or is more informational (no vote required)

Supporting Items for posting on the website (These need to be available a week in advance of the meeting for senators to have ample time to review):

Estimated Time for Topic:



Please have any supporting materials submitted no later than 1 week before the meeting (9/2/26) so that it can be posted ahead of time for review by the senators.



A few other quick notes regarding the upcoming senate year:

If you are new to the senate this year,  we are happy to have you onboard and look forward to seeing you throughout the year during senate meetings.    All senate sessions are conducted IN-PERSON on campus.  Attendance at all senate sessions is required so that we can have sufficient quorum for conducting senate business. I'm currently in the process of updating the senate attendance lists.  At present, the Elections and Balloting Committee has informed me that there are some elections in progress and that some colleges do have vacant seats.  I hope to have the senate attendance list updated before the first senate meeting so that I can ensure all newly elected senators are added to the senate email list so that they can receive senate updates.
