[YSU-Jewish] Fall 2006 Judaic and Holocaust Programming

I am pleased to annouce that this fall will be extremely active for 
Judaic and Holocaust Studies.  


1. There will be a Jewish Cultural week from September 10-17 which will 
include a concert, an exhibition and the Jewish film festival.  For

2. On Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 7 pm there will be a lecture by 
Dr. Natalia Aleksiun at the Youngstown Jewish Community Center at 505 
Gypsy Lane.  Dr. Natalia Aleksiun of Touro College will speak on 
Inter-war Jewish life in Poland. Her talk will be held in conjunction 
with the exhibition, "Factories and Factories of Death." This event is 
free and open to the public.

3. On Thursday, October 5, 2006, there will be a Sukkah Building Party. 
 Students and community members are invited to pitch in and learn more 
about the holiday.  The Sukkah will be put up in front of DeBartolo 
Hall.  

4. In the last half of October, we will be hosting a Rwandan Genocide 
scholar on campus.  She will give a public lecture, and speak to 
various classes.  More on that visit soon.
