The Society of the Anthropology of North America (SANA) invites
graduate student participants of its 2007 conference "Unnatural
Disasters" to submit applications to the St. Claire Drake travel
award. Qualified applicants must be currently enrolled graduate
students without a Ph.D. who have submitted abstracts to and
registered for the 2007 SANA conference. The student's paper should
be based in ethnographic field research located in Mexico, the United
States, or Canada.

The selection committee for the SANA conference travel award wishes
to compose a cohort of fellows whose work reflects the breadth of
North American anthropology and whose proposals demonstrate the
commitment to social justice and politically engaged anthropology
embodied by the awards namesake, St. Claire Drake.

To apply, submit your paper abstract, university affiliation, and
contact information to: sanatravelgrant at yahoo.com. No additional
materials are needed. For more information about the award and Mr.
Drake please visit http://sananet.org/2007conf/grants.html. The
deadline for receipt of applications is March 15.
