The UCD Egalitarian World Initiative (EWI), currently hosted by the UCD
Equality Studies Centre, invites applications for 2 part-time teaching
fellowships: one with a focus on Gender and Global Justice, and the
other on Childhood Inequalities in a Global Context. The fellowships are
being established to continue promoting the teaching of global justice
issues within the undergraduate Horizons programme at UCD. The
fellowships will be for a 6 month period initially, commencing January
2008. Each fellowship is valued at ?6,500. Should one person have
expertise in both fields, combining the fellowships will be considered.

Is offering:
2 Part-time Teaching Fellowships on Gender and Global Justice
and Childhood Inequality in a Global Context commencing January 2008

The UCD Egalitarian World Initiative (EWI), currently hosted by the
UCD Equality Studies Centre, invites applications for 2 part-time
teaching fellowships: one with a focus on Gender and Global
Justice, and the other on Childhood Inequalities in a Global
Context. The fellowships are being established to continue
promoting the teaching of global justice issues within the
undergraduate Horizons programme at UCD.

The fellowships will be for a 6 month period initially, commencing
January 2008. Each fellowship is valued at ?6,500. Should one person
have expertise in both fields, combining the fellowships will be considered.
The ideal persons for the fellowships will have a strong academic
background, including a Masters degree in a cognate field. They
should have a keen interest in teaching and research on global
justice issues from a gender and/or childhood perspective. Having
a successful track record in third-level teaching, and a record of
work or related experience within a majority-world context, is also
desirable. The person(s) granted the award will be expected to
teach one Optional course within the Horizons programme in their
area of expertise (or two courses where the fellowships are
combined). They will be based at the UCD Equality Studies
Centre, but will work with other EWI members with an interest in
Gender Equality Issues and Childhood Research.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of academics
and researchers with a commitment to equality, global justice and
human rights.

contact details of two referees, at least one of which must be an
academic referee, and a letter of application stating your relevant
expertise and experience to:
